Last night, the artists gathered for an early look at the Summer Stampede Western Art & Gear Show at the National Ranching Heritage Center.
One of the highlights of the evening was hearing Red Steagall speak about the Center’s commitment to preserving ranching history, craftsmanship, and the stories of the people who have shaped the American West. He also shared one of his poems—a reminder that heritage is carried forward not only through the land and its people, but through art, memory, and words.
As we walked through the galleries, we were surrounded by remarkable paintings, photography, sculpture, and handmade gear created by artists and craftsmen who care deeply about this way of life.
I was honored to have three pieces included in this year’s exhibition and especially grateful to be exhibiting alongside Peter. Many of the experiences that inspire my work have come through the ranches, landscapes, animals, and people we have encountered together over the years.
Tonight collectors, supporters, and friends of the Ranching Heritage Center gather for an evening celebrating the art, craftsmanship, and stories that continue to keep ranching heritage alive.
