Custom Collages – Recent Commissioned Work

Burt Bull House Collage

This is a custom collage I have been working on. Peter and I were recently commissioned to photograph a ranch in south Texas. The goal was to capture all aspects of the ranch and then make larger sized prints on canvas to decorate the walls of the ranchers’ new home. Peter focused on everything involving the ranch life – family, horses & cattle. I focused on the details around the house and out in the fields. I also did portraits of the rancher’s wife. This is the first proof of a collage for one of the home’s main living spaces. The goal of the collage was to create a piece of beautiful art for the home to tell the ranchers’ unique story & represent their personal taste in design by bringing together images of their brand, architecture, & landscape.

I enjoy adding my own interpretations of color and composition to various environments. For example, the red tile was part of the walking space around a pool. It was actually gray. I photographed a small section & made it more vibrant because I loved the pattern. The owner of the ranch loved the plants around his house. They were all growing against a white stucco wall, adding to a more contemporary image. In the end, everything worked together to tell a story about the ranchers’ lives and what they enjoy most in their environment.

Peter & I greatly enjoy doing commissioned work and work well as a team, whether on a ranch or commercial photo shoot.
